i've been emailing/texting/calling people left and right about their S2k's and i think i found the one i want. its a 2000 s2000 and it looks flawless. wanted you guys to look at the ad and tell me if the price is right, etc.. is it too low, like is something possibly wrong with it to cause the price to be so low?

are there any problems with the 2000 models, since they are the first year?

here's the ad:

No harm in taking it for a test drive. You'll see if there's an engine problem (my suspicion) or anything else. It could be a great deal and if it's not BS, he sounds desperate enough to sell for less.

Looking past the seemly low price I would pass as the ad is full of red flags. It looks like it is owned by a kid from the way he writes. It was probably driven within an inch of its life for every single mile he put on it (younger owner and he even claims he has a ton of fines). Strike three is he admits he is broke so probably couldn't afford to take care of the car properly. But there seems to be a hole in that story because he is open for trades which begs the question is there something wrong with it if he is willing to trade for an equal value car despite claiming to need money? Pass.

So I think I have narrowed my search to these cars. My limit is 14k. Think I can do it?

The only guidelines I must follow because of the loan I'm getting to pay for the car are:
1. No older than 10 years.
2. Clean title
3. Descent amount of miles
What do you guys think? Think I can get one of these for 14k or less?
