Honda S2000 Value Questions Price AP1 AP2 Appreciating Depreciating S2KI.com

Cars are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, but we think this S2000 seller is dreaming.

Firs things first, 2006 was 12, going on 13 years ago. If you’re asking “where has the time gone?” then you can join the club. That gives us a perfect segue to this beautiful 2006 Honda S2000 for sale on Craigslist right now. It’s a Grand Prix White on black combo that is all-original, with a clean title, no accidents, and, crucially, just 8,200 miles on the odometer. You can buy it now, in Maui, for just $38,599.

We hate to be Captain Obvious, again, but way back in 2006, a brand new S2000, off the showroom floor, rang in at $34,050. In case math isn’t your strong suit, the seller of this nearly 13-year-old S2000 is asking $4,549 more than the original MSRP for their ride. Okay, but “it’s really clean!” you may say, as you violently shake your computer screen or mobile device, and we agree. Though, we would counter by asking, have you checked out the forums? By our count, there are 164,769 members in there, and, having spent a good amount of time in there, more than a few of them have really clean S2Ks.

A big part of the reason why we love the S2000 is one, it’s stellar driving experience, but, two, and more importantly, the fact that it’s an accessible car to people of many means. Thanks to the long 10-year production run and rather high production rate (at least, initially), there is almost always an S2000 for everyone. So to see people trying to cash in the cars are disappointing, especially coming from side of the income fence.

Though, as we said at the very beginning, a car is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it. So, S2KI, would you buy this GPW AP2?
