I saw that too - I think McLaren are trying a scorched earth defense by trying to take others out.
They are deflecting all over the place looking for a way out imo. McLaren first started out saying they did nothing, then it was a single person (MC) acting on his own, then they where protecting a whistleblower, next not enough proof, then the FIA is out to get us and now it's not good for the sport.

there are comments too saying "how are they going to prove McLaren used the info?" that's the big question and i'm sure McLaren got into this thinking they can't prove it, but if there is all this communication going on at McLaren about these documents, even to the drivers, i think right there is has gone too far. why would they need to communicate to everyone that they have these Ferrari documents if they weren't talking about the specifics. i doubt they would go to FA and PDLR saying "we have Ferrari's documents, but we aren't going to use them, so forget i mentioned it."
Holy crap, this is amazing, CBS actuallyy is reporting on F1, wow...
This McLaren spy saga has got to ne a huge story for some group like CBS to even find out Formula One exists.

i agree, it sounds like McLaren are getting a little worried and are now throwing fire on others too. they've had to change their story as this goes along to cover their ass when new developments come up.

That seems very odd to me since McLaren said he was acting alone....

Also keep in mind that MC is only suspended from McLaren, unlike NS that was dismissed from Ferrari.
I had lost track of that fact, that's just wrong! If McLaren honestly feel MC has acted improperly for the best interests of the team his butt should be fired, if he has only been suspended it looks really bad, like McLaren is only sorry he got caught by copy boy/Ferrari, they are not really that upset their team had the data.
It's looking like the FIA is telling Ronnie boy to shut the hell up...

Maybe they stole some Renault data too.

Was it McLaren behind this one too? On 21 July 2006 the FIA banned the use of mass damper systems That one really hurt Renault at the time of the ban.

Maybe Mike is on to something....
they are now rumblings of a mclaren 1-2 race ban.
I can see the FIA penalizing them in this manner why ?
Just enough to "close up" the championship and make "the show" a little more exciting for the title race.
