I think you're talking about Scheduled Maintenance, which is every 7500 (15k, 22.5k, 30k, etc.) Oil changes are still recommended every 3750 miles. Service Manual.

Factory interval is 3750, so you're only 250 miles late.
Yeah, but factory interval doesn't account for synthetic oil...

With synthetics I was burning even less oil, not even 1/4 of the cross-hatch markings on the dipstick. You have even less to worry about with your "extended" intervals. Catch can doesn't solve the consumption, it just feels better knowing it's not going back into the intake stream.

Wow, so this is pretty much a 50/50 outcome... Maybe driving habits have something to do with this issue?

I have occasionally had to add a quart between oil changes. But more often I'm just getting to the "add a quart" line when it's time for the change.

From what I've read, AP-1's tend to burn more oil than AP-2's. It was recommended that the factory oil be left in for the first 7500 or 10,000 miles (I think) in the first couple of model years to allow additives in it to seal the rings. I can't find any references to doing that in my '06 manual.
