S2000 would beat both of those cars in a drag race*

* I mean that literally. So, the Mustang would be towing the M3 behind it, or vice versa.

You are retarded, ever driven an E92/90 M3?
And the M3 has small doors. Or something like that?

Exactly, it's not just about the numbers. At the end of the day you're still comparing the craftsmanship and engineering of a BMW to well...a Ford.
This is an elitist arrogant attitude that I have to disagree with. The cars are aimed at different audiences and Ford is quite capable of putting out a product that's on par with BMW...don't think so, name 1 production BMW that can hang with the Ford GT. Ford is more than capable of putting out a product that is refined as the M3 with like quality but then it would also carry an M3 price tag. Why not offer 80% of what the M3 offers for 50% of the price. Ford got it right with this car but don't pretend it's in the same category as the M3.

I've driven a friend's Ford GT, and it didn't quite live up to expectations. Beautiful car inside and out, and thrillingly fast, but the clutch felt more like something I'd expect in an econobox, and the A pillar blocked vision in a distracting manner (more attributable to being faithful to the original design, I guess). Very cool car though, maybe I just expected too much?

You have to keep the Ford GT in perspective...it's not a GT cruiser, it's pretty much a race car for the street. I have driven two different ones and it's an impressive car that I would not want as a daily driver. I don't think BMW makes a car that wouldn't make a pretty solid DD.

I have to generally agree. That's the sort of quote that says you get your information from marketing fliers rather than from any inherent knowledge of the subject. I have a friend like that. He's certain that a $10,000 Swiss watch costs that much because it has $10,000 worth of engineering and craftsmanship. The truth that it has a mechanical movement that hasn't changed substantially in 30 years and is priced based on what people will pay for a jewelry item doesn't work on him. I wounder how many people think the E39's 5spd automatic transmission is better than the Cadillac 5spd automatic. Of course they the same transmission.
