I got an internet quote on a 3LT Z51 the other day - sticker was nearly 57k, they offered it at 50k with no negotiation. That was a 2009 as well- so 10k off sounds about right.

^ $57K for a "base" Corvette without the "custom" (not sure what's "custom" about it) leather interior? When did Corvettes get so expensive? I seem to recall that when the C5 Z06s came out, they were around $45K, right? $57K is way too much $$$, IMHO. No wonder they have to drop so much off MSRP... Eh, maybe I'm just getting old, and cheap.

$10k off would be a good deal. Add 0% and it would be a great purchase. I have the 2LT package, got it mostly for the side airbags, but the sport seats are nice. 1LT seats are pretty flat and don't offer good lateral support during hard cornering, but they are fairly comfortable and work fine overall. Z51 and NPP are great options.

My only options were 2LT, Z51, and the comp gray wheels. I custom ordered it back during Christmas of 2007 and got it Feb of 2008. It's been a great year with it. 8 track days and a lot of hard around town driving and not one problem.

Corvetteforum is a good source. Go into the C6 for sale section and dealer section to get a good feel for the market prices. There are some killer deals on them right now. Let me know if you have anymore specific questions.

2LTs seem to be rare birds. Ideally, I would like a 2LT, Z51, NPP, but if I'm looking at left-overs, my choices are limited. Really, it seems difficult to find decently equiped Corvettes. I must have a manual Z51 and would really like NPP, but I dislike most of the available colors (yellow, orange, victory red, jetstream blue, white...the brighter colors, and white seems too bland on a Corvette, plus it makes the rear look even bigger and flatter), and I HATE chrome wheels, which lotsa cars that I see have. Do you think $10K off should be reasonably attainable on a left-over '08?

I agree on some of the colors, I had silver on my '01, so it was an easy choice on the '08 and I like it with the comp gray wheels. NPP is fixable aftermarket if you can't find it. 2LT is nice, but not completely necessary. Is this going to be your daily driver? If so, I'd consider 3LT because it has some nice goodies that help resale value and are nice to have during ownership.

$10k is definitely doable. Heck, I saw a 1LT, Z51 car on Corvetteforum for under $40k brand new. Not sure if it had NPP, but it was $50k for $40k. People are getting upwards of $17k+ off the Z06 models. Pretty crazy.

what's NPP?

are there other undesirable C6 features, that most owners disable?

Why get a new one??

Use 2006-2007 Z06 Corvettes are selling for around $40K at wholesale dealer auctions!!!!

That about 50% depreciation in a 12-24 months.

I actually started to look for a grey Z06. Deals are too good to pass up.

^ You probably won't find a grey one, unless it's new. The grey is new for '09. Our dealer here, Performance Chevrolet, has one. Nice color. Probably my favorite.

Yeah, it would be my daily driver, but I don't daily drive too far. I get to work in less than 10 minutes. I also live in NC, so the climate is pretty temperate (so heated seats aren't that big of a deal to me). Was an Ipod connection standard on '08 cars with the base radio? That's probably my biggest concern as far as amenities. You have the base radio on the 2LT, right? Is it acceptable (I'm no audiophile)?
