Clapton Loses French License
France won't allow career guitar plucker Eric Clapton to drive on its autoroutes for a while. The Associated Press reports the musician was clocked at 134 mph in his Porsche 911 Turbo near Dijon, and had his license confiscated on the spot. Clapton, 59, played along with the police, letting them take pictures and eventually paying a $922 fine, leaving the scene with his secretary behind the wheel. Clapton will have to go through the courts to retrieve his British driver's license.
