I don't want to start any battles on the S2000 board but the EVO is vastly superior to the S2000 in every respect except the shifter/tranny. I am sure most would agree the S2000 is alot more exotic looking than the EVO. However the EVO definitely has a cult following.

The fact that the S2000 is a convertible is also big plus if that is what your looking for.

Keep in mind my S2000 had over 55k miles before I sold it so I had quite a bit of seat time, hence experience driving the car on a daily basis.

Congrats Michael! Enjoy the EVO! If you gotta have a family hauler, that's the one to have!!!

I'm enjoying the hell out of your S2K! Had a great top-down drive today!

Them's fightin' words! Seriously though, I think the cars are sufficiently different to abrogate any direct comparisons. Also Michael you might want to consider that your S2000 was/is an early first-year example, which for all iits marvels was a little rough around the edges. In the following 5 years Honda has made many significant improvements to the S2K, so that an '03 or '04 could feel markedly different from "our" '00.

In addition, there are a couple of TSBs out there even for '00's that "our" car never had done, most notably the clutch rattle. I'd wager that if you test drove an '04 you'd be plenty surprised. I'm not saying you'd change your mind, I'm just saying that in your mind you seem to be comparing a new or brand new '03 or '04 Evo to a 3.5 year old [relatively] high mile S2K. Not exactly equivalent, not quite fair.

Enjoy the car!

I would guess you are willing yourself in that direction given that you just went out and spent your hard earned money on the EVO.

Being that I don't own an EVO but do have seat time in one I would disagree. The EVO is superior in terms of acceleration. But in every other measure of handling and more so quality, the EVO is well behind. It is what it is, a shitbox econocar that has all the money in the engine and suspension and perhaps 5 dollars worth in what has to be the worst interior since a mid-80's dodge.
