My new Evolution .....
I will have to agree with you on the EVO is a faster (but not more superior) then the S. I love my S but I got the chance to drive an EVO yesterday.....wow. It was as fast as my MR2 w/a TD06!!! I was sold on it and I cant wait til my hubby gets his.
The only thing I dont like is the fact that it dont have the convertable. The interior is so comfortable and it looks nice (not eyecandy like the S) but I could live with one
Congrats on teh new baby and enjoy it!!!

not trying to put the S2000 down, but the Evo is a pretty good car... try one for more than 10 minutes and you will see.
but the evo ended up being about 2 seconds per lap faster (electronically timed)...... same thing at beaverun which is a tighter track.... evo was about 2.5 seconds faster than my S2000....
), but two seconds is a lot of time to make up.
in both cases it was me vs another "experienced" driver.... at beaverun it was the NASA ohio regional chapter president.....at summit it was someone on this board who a rollbar installed and has been to several track events.....you need to have some decent experience or they don't let you do the TIME TRIALS......... anyway.....
i also (again this could be driver) beat all of the local Porsche club at auto-x including 2 996 twin turbo's (one had x-50 package )for the street tire category....... it was my 3rd auto-x ever, so it is not like I am a vetern at that......... Long Live the Evo.

In the SCCA the 996 Turbo's, at least from the last list I saw are not allowed in stock classes (which is bullshit) and in my experience would still not even be competitive in SS against the Z06's ... stock for stock anyway.
ya... just ask those 2 guys with their TT996's..... ahahah.... the 2nd place guy was 1.8 seconds behind me and the other guy was almost 3 seconds behind........
Supposedly the 2nd place guy "RACE" (his name) is a wonderful driver...... so he tells himself.
