Default the 4 prongs for removing a head unit

I remember years ago that you couldn't buy the head unit removal tool that sticks things in the four holes to make easy removal of head units.

my girlfriend has just bought a new car stereo for her Ka, and is unhappy to find that I cannot help her swap it over.

can you buy these things now?
or is it a case of getting her to wear her tight top, drive up to halfords and ask for a free swap over round the back?

cheers.

I think Halfords may sell them. I bought a Vauxhall one off e-bay for a couple of quid.

You can use Jeweller's screwdrivers & push the tines in.

Tend to need a fourth hand to pull the unit out though.

Halfords sell them for several pounds for a bent bit of metal. Luckily the ones needed for my Civic were out of stock so the bloke just did it for me using the ones in his toolbox (I was buying other stuff so fair enough if you ask me).

Alternatively make your own out of a wire coat hanger.

That's like going into one & saying you'd like a Probe.
