What's the car for Jamie?

This is your 2nd car, with your 1st being the Porsche?

Don't you need something bigger than a Fester (to stick washing machines/telly's in etc)?
No just a small car is fine

My wife used to have a Mk 4 1.25 zetec.

Pretty nippy, parts were plentiful and soooo cheap, and it sipped go-juice.

As close to free motoring as can be had IMO.

For reference: Glass's value a 1999 car with similar mileage at 1200 quid!

Resistance to rust will be the number one thing at that age of car.
Was looking for a car for a friend last year and saw plenty of rust on Fiesta's and Ka's, less so on Polo's, Golf's and the like.
In my experience older Fords tend to be strong mechanically but are weak on corrosion, depending the the model and where it was built.

I have a 98 Polo 1.4CL, it has no rust, drives like a big car and is bomb proof.

It is great to use now and again, especially supermarkets, I hate parking a nice car in Tescos trolley bashing car park.
