Forgot to say, while the F1 cars sounded good, that Merc estate was bloody unbelievable. Every time it went round I pulled out my earplgs for a listen - love it! Sounded a lot more meaty than the SLR too. Just porn.

SLS

I went to Brooklands Mercedes World and drove the new E class AMG which I believe shares the same engine as the AMG E Class estate and bloody hell, it is even better when you are driving it, it sounds seriously seriously good, V8 heaven! The amount of power/torque out of a corner is amazing. The gearbox is a little clumsy though, albeit much better in flappy paddle mode. When you make a downshift and you get that little pop out the exhausts, amazing!

Well worth going if you have a free afternoon, I think it was about £160ish for an hour on the track. Good fun and a cracking car!

I was caught off guard on how nice it sounded.

Didn't realize another S2ki member was at the race as well.

Japanese Grand Prix

Track:- Suzuka

DRS Zone:- Start/Finish Straight

Dates:- 7-9 October

Friday 7 October:

Practice one - 0200-0330;
Practice two - 0600-0730

Saturday 8 October:

Practice three - 0300-0400;
Qualifying - 0600-0700

Sunday 9 October:

Race - 0600

So early start for the race on Sunday, but Suzuka has always been a great track and produced some great races. Light rain is forecast for Sunday but dry for Friday and Saturday and 23C.

Jenson Button is now the only driver who can mathematically win the WDC from Sebastian Vettel.

Lets be honest about this. For JB to win the world championship, Seb has to crash out, injuring himself enough to not be able to race at any of the rest season. And then JB STILL has to win every single race left. I don't wish Seb any harm (other than for the crazy frog references) so Seb becoming champion is a formality.

Admittedly, if that did happen it would be seriously impressive.

Haha, yeh I think Vettel getting the WDC is a formality too, but JB will be champion next year for sure!

In case you hadn't heard, JB has signed a multi-year contract with McLaren so it looks like his championship winning potential has increased again!

JB has had a fantastic year. He's shown the others that consistency is the key, and his smooth and steady driving style has him sat in 2nd place atm. That and his ability to drive faster than anyone else when the going gets damp and greasy has set him apart from the rest of the field, even Vettel.

My driver of the year by some margin.

Anyone what to place a bet on who Lewis tangles with this weekend? My money is on Alonso
