The Formula 1 Thread - 2011
Keeping him behind Hamilton meant there wouldn't be bad PR when he came up behind Vettel and then told to 'hold the gap'.
Sorry to see JB didn't do better.
I'm still of the opinion there's something 'not right' with the Red Bull car; it's too good compared to all the others.
It reminds me of 1995 when the WRC Toyota has a special flange in the turbo restrictor; at the time Max Mosely stated he'd never seen anything so ingenious in 30 years of motor racing.
Happy to be proven wrong about Red Bull - but I'd have to look into Christian Horner's eyes to be sure...

Really enjoyed the battle between Hamilton and Webber. Some thrilling driving.
Glad to seem Hamilton back on decent form, disappointed to see Button slightly off the boil. He got mugged at the start.

The bendy wings were clearly dubious, but then they stopped flexing despite them being completely "legal". But I think it's a bit of a leap to say there's something "fishy" now. Is the McLaren fishy because it's faster than the HRT?
I just don't think people understand how good Newey is, the word genius is banded about far too often but in Neweys case it suits him perfectly. Which begs the question why is Webber not running off into the distance, or always seemingly playing second fiddle, well actually that is easy .. he is not as fast as the boy wonder, much like Massa is not as fast as Teflonso. That RBR car (in Vettel's hands) has a full second or more on any car out there, that at the end of the season proves what an exceptionally well designed car it is.
It also is because of the two accidents he's had whilst doing outdoor pursuits, 1st he had the collision with the truck in 2009 and in 2010 he fell off his bike and broke his collar bone. Since those he's never been right.

He's very much the No.2 driver in the team now.
The fact he's won no races this year despite having the best car doesn't put him in a great light.
I guess it's one more year for him, and then one of the RB young drivers will get the seat.

He blew his chance when he had to drive the last 3 races last year with a broken collar bone. Its shown this year too. Kubica will struggle being the same if he comes back, G Force has a big impact on old wounds and will never allow you to perform as before.
