OH dear, and this is how dull the F1 race was, not a comment on the Spanish GP, if you'll excuse the pun, 'says a lot really'.

It was Renault/Lotus for the last couple of years, but I heard that Pirelli sold the car recently so no idea now. Maybe they have/had more than one.
There was what seemed to be a clear arrangement in place though where they supplied the car and got no feedback at all from Pirelli about the testing.

If they based the tyres on that then there's no wonder they aren't working well. I thought they'd had a Toyota, but that would be way too old, and they bought an HRT to use for marketing purposes but decided not to bother in the end.
So certainly no team is getting any kind of advantage from Pirelli, except of course Red Bull who by complaining the loudest seem to be getting things changed to suit them. But at least it's not like the days when Bridgestone were making the tyres according to what Michael Schumacher wanted.

He said the problems had been caused by the performance increase of the leading cars, which are a second a lap faster than they were in 2012.
So how is it Lotus are able to be a second a lap faster without having any problems with their tyres? Obviously they're the cleverest of all.

This is amazing really:
The F1 engineers are so clever.

Not sure that's a great idea as Mclaren seem to be on a downward spiral right now...
