Well Massa would have definitely been World Champion in 2008; although I think he would have anyway under the current system. Vettel would have won by more in 2010, and probably Alonso would have won in 2012.

I think the double points rule will disappear. Plenty of time yet.

Anyone seen anything like this ?

McLaren doesn't look too bad but that Lotus is hideous....
Vettel would still have won every year apart from 12 which Alonso would have won.

I just don't get it. If the result wouldn't have been really any different during Vettel's dominance then what's the point. Lets hope F1 sees sense on this one.
It would have made a lot more sense to see if the new regs made a difference first , seeing as everyone is effectively starting from scratch again.

Anyway, for those interested I've found this

In '11 and '13 teams all gave up mid season one the odds looked slim of fighting for championship position. The idea is that it will be like '10 and '12 with teams chasing current car development to the end because the big haul of points at the end of the season will be very enticing.

Not just the teams. Somewhere I found a story on the UK viewing figures, and between the start and the end of the year nearly a million fewer were watching (the average was something like 5m). And that was repeated all over the world. So the idea is to try to keep the championship interesting for longer.

How can they lump the fantastic looking Tyrrell P34 in that list of fuglies?!

Maybe it says a lot about me, but that was the F1 car that captured my imagination as a child - I bought a large diecast model with my birthday money, must have been 6 or 7yrs old?
