You're speaking too soon.
Red Bull aren't going anywhere and this is just a hiccup for them.

It's a bit of a setback. It does appear that Newey's gone overboard on the tight packaging and they're suffering overheating as a result. Torro Rosso are less extreme but suffering in a similar way, but Caterham-Renault have a much roomier rear of the car and were the only Renault team managing to do any significant running.
Whereas Mercedes were first out and doing 100s of laps. Too early to tell about speed, but certainly if reliability is as big a factor as people think then Mercedes are the team to bet on.
2010 I'd say things were pretty equal from the start until Red Bull's blown diffuser became effective. In fact I remember hearing Whitmarsh that year refer to McLaren as the 'fastest of the fixed wing teams' as a dig against Redbull and Ferrari who by the end of the season they just couldn't keep up with.
I think even if the dreadful reliability from the initial test is put right, they are still not going to have the measure of Mercedes for full race reliability and performance. Unless it works some magic on the fuel economy front I think it could be a long year for them.
Rule 1. Ugly nose must apply!!
Rule 2. Heavier car
Rule 3. Less power
Rule 4. Let them pass you
Rule 5. Smile for cameras be polite.
Rule 6. Do not do anything unique
Rule 7. Only race when allowed
F1 does need to do something imo to bring back the passion of racing. I love watching f1 but feel more is being done to prevent racing and unique engineering solutions.
Wouldnt a budget cap and some simple rules open up the minds of designers and engineers... watching the best cars on the planet needs some more umph :-) moto gp was a great watch last year! Cmon cal and rossi....
On another note. Want kimi and Hamilton to do well this year.....

I think the fact that RedBull are not an engine manufacturer, and the fact that Aero is not going to be the deciding factor this year (most likely) means that we will have a shift of power if you will excuse the pun, and personally I can't wait ... however if RBR win the first race by a country mile, I don't think I will be able to watch another whole season of that ... I really don't!
Although what's going on with Hammy's hair-piece?
