I'm surprised he managed to make the tyres last 1 lap of the high street.

Looks like Ferrari might be testing their 2014 engine in a LaFerrari chassis! Interesting. Sounds really ace, despite the low quality mic that wont pickup the lower tones.

I really wish I could listen to that at work.

Force India confirms Hulkenberg; it would have been a travesty if he'd been the one to end up without a drive. And New Jersey is postponed for another year.

Its not perfect sound due to the camera phone, but its better than the simulators they are using and RR etc, at least its installed in a working chassis. IF it is the v6 anyway, if you look at the car you can see an airbox on the roof. v V interesting!

The thing is why would you have the airbox on the top? It's not NA afterall...

N/A or not, pressure recovery and pulse tuning is just as important in both. It's just that most old school boosted people don't care and wind the boost up a bit more instead. Then wonder why it went pop.

Yes but for NA it makes sense to have your plenum there as it suits the configuration. I don't know if 2014 rules state that the intake must be up top but I'd be looking for cleaner aero onto the rear wing and thus i'd put the intake lower down in the sidepods like they used to do.

But the sidepods are already going to be bulky with the extra cooling needed, and driving the diffuser is more important than the wing. With the turbo having to be between/on the centreline of the banks, and the cleanest air being up high above the car, makes sense to keep the airbox where it is.
I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple intakes up there taking air for extra engine cooling too to keep the sidepod area down.

Yeah the sidepods have to be a lot bigger this year anyway through safety grounds so you can take advantage. Who knows, maybe Newey will stick the inlet behind the front wing and 'energise' the air coming from underneath it
