I haven't heard the new cars, but would very much like too. I dont have a problem with the noise (I anticipate) they make per se - as long as the racing is good, which by and large, by F1 standards, it has been this year. I enjoyed watching the last gen. turbo cars in the 1980's and they weren't terribly inspiring to listen too.

Spa has been a regular haunt of mine over the years, certainly a better place to spectate than Silverstone (then most places are), but you will get wet!

Attending the races live isn't my cup of tea but a close friend has done Silverstone, Melbourne, Singapore, Malaysia and China and he rates Singapore as the best event by a mile.

Plus being a city street circuit you don't get gauged by track venders if you want something to eat.

Singapore is a great event, but shit for actually watching a race. Too limited viewing.

Interesting read, I was unaware of the technology (Front and rear interconnected suspension - FRICS) before reading this and didn't know it was in the spotlight http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1...the-spotlight/

They should just unban active suspension. This has a massive consequence for the improvement of road vehicles and will also allow following cars to adjust to prevent them being hampered, cornering wise, by the tow.

FRIC is a low tech bodge.

Active suspension will not spoil the show, it'll just up the speed.

All you need to do is introduce a rule limiting the number of elements in the ront/rear wing.

I agree, it seemed the reason they banned it was that nobody could get it working as well as Williams

This is a problem that's always going to happen with something. No one could get the mass damper working like Renault. No one could blow their diffuser like Redbull and so on.

Active suspension is road relevant so I can see the logic in bringing that back, but I do worry it takes something away from the driver.

I've seen analysis of Webber vs Vettel where you can see Vettel gets less suspension roll during cornering all of which helps with tyre deg and corning speed. You give drivers an active ride height system and the weight distribution control is one less skill that isn't as vital.

I do love how they can ban things for being moveable aero though. I mean what doesn't that cover? The steering wheel moves the tyres which move the car that the aero is connected to, so it's moveable aero. Let's ban steering and see who the real drivers are!

2 second pit stop?! That's ridiculous.
