Fernando Alonso December 2013.
He forgot to mention "being consistently bested by a relative novice team-mate".

Typical Alonso mind games

He's lucky Lewis doesn't play the game like he does because I don't know how he'd come back at the fact Lewis turned around Mercedes form in 1 season vs 4+ of Alonso struggling to get Ferrari to give him a good car.

To be fair this isn't Vettels first rodeo. Ricciardo is hungry and really has something to prove to this new team. Vettel knows a championship isn't won in the first few races. RBR can't compete with Mercedes at all at present, so he's driving steady races to get what points he can rather than balls to the wall like Ricciardo.

If Redbull close the performance gap I fully expect to see Vettel up there fighting but I suspect for the time being he's holding station rather than risking throwing any points away and taking life out of his limited number of engines & gearboxes so early on while they can't compete.

Come the end of the season if they manage to catch up and he's taken less life from his engines it could make all the difference.

Don't forget the joker round - double points at season end could benefit Vettel...

I'm quite glad to see Merc doing well (although I'd like to see McLaren and Williams up the front more), but in what way is this a fact?
