Future classics
I'll tell you where I am........
The chance of appreciation, after taking account of all the other associated costs and time invested doesn't make it an attractive investment.
If you are enjoying yourself then great but it doesn't make sense as a business. Its ludicrous.
For those reasons ....... I'm out.

One man's banger is another man's classic (or vice versa)
Maybe agree to disagree on the E Type (unless copies of 70's autotrader are forthcoming)

They used to have a pretty big classifieds section
Will check tomorrow

I don't understand the question or its premise
Foz picked up on that.
I suspect the title was a little misleading.
when i first started working on old Jaguars in 2002 a C type was £500,000. a D type was £800,000 and a Light Weight E type was aroung the £million.
you would now need to part with a couple of £million for any of them. the ones with very nice history a lot more than that.
and they are still going up.

I don't think any of us will be alive to see an XJS leap into stratospheric classic value
That said, as long as the inbuilt rust monkey keeps working who knows, maybe when we get down to less than 12 worldwide they'll be worth more than 20 quid with a full MOT

You did say in the title "How to make an easy few bob".
Foz picked up on that.

I suspect the title was a little misleading.

the title refers to the potential profit in the cars
I think most of the cars I have will double, treble or quadruple in value in the next three or four years
that's the 'easy few bob bit'
it's a prediction and it really won't matter if I'm wrong
however, the issue of storage isn't really relevant
I already have the storage
in the same way that most of you have a garage with only bikes and a mower in it
you wouldn't say, if your 'XYZ GTi' had trebled in value in three years, that you should offset that profit against what you could have rented your garage for
would you?
I wouldn't

but I don't predict the stratosphere
I simply predict that say, my red XJS convertible (I have a blue one as well)
which I paid £2950 for
will fetch £10K easy by say, 2015
we'll see
