i don't doubt it

Johnny Saddo could have his own owners club for his NSU

it was more the popularity, number of members, availability of information concerning the cars and so on that i was getting at

the internet has certainly increased membership levels

and it follows that classics are more popular these days

anyway, let's have more predictions

Nova SR or GSI in mint condition.
or GTE

MK1 Astra GTE's haven't peaked yet

although it is very difficult to find a good one that hasn't eaten its own front wings or boiled itself to death

most classics (of the type I'm talking about) have to survive a banger phase

that happened with e-types and many other cars that are now worth a packet

take MGA's - easily buyable for under a grand in the eighties

it's current with the XJS and quite a few other cars

In the same vein it might be possible to tap into the "I'm having a mid-life crisis and want to relive my youth" market with these types of cars

Renault 5 Turbo (think most of them went thermo nuclear at the side of the road due to turbo boost, but I still see the odd one knocking about)

Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi (french again, so probably surrendered itself to shite build quality) Mainstream, but at the same time still quite rare in it's day (most were 1.6)

Manta GTE

Audi Quattro (the original)

Most of the cars listed have already been called. Quattros and most Borgwards have appreciated considerably in valuse over the last decade.

You can pick up dinosaurs like W126s and stuff for pennies now; good ones will increase in value, but they must be special.

I'd say one to look out for is the RX-8; soon to depreciate away to nothing, it has huge upside potential over the next decade!
