We are looking at an EV in the near future , I love the Honda interior and to some extent the exterior. Have yet to drive one because at the moment it’s fairly low on our list.
big problem for us is the real world range which does impact our choice as this will be our primary transport and the Honda on paper looks poor.
currently we are looking at Kia and Hyundai which have real world ranges in the region of 250miles.
any other ideas and what have you e owners found ?
iirc the e-niro was the most honest, i think it managed it's claimed range or very close. The german stuff did not and typically got 75% ish. In winter that also drops quite significantly. The family cars are largely very expensive and heavy and that's the crux for me. I may as well have a Honda e for local duties and a CRV, perhaps hybrid, for longer jaunts.
We were never going to settle on one car does it all.
but equally most people do around 12k miles a year. we have been constrained lately but i drove to London last year (130?) and Stratford (65?) so could have just took the pain and charged for 30 mins on the way for the former and charged overnight at some point for the latter.. no biggy
as a driving experience i only tested the e and loved it. I didnt "want" any of the other cars so didnt waste effort in then current env.
avoid tesla, the horror stories of them falling apart as they age are numerous
My last job was in a Kia dealer and I liked their e cars, pal has the e Niro and loves it, I would probably consider Kia or Hyundai now, would be down to who offered the best deal although the warranties may be different even though they are in fact almost the same car.
Not feeling the love for the colour I haven't had a non monochrome car for over 20 years so it's a change for me
there is a red one in Japan but we don't get it
Regardless the other half is on the conversion path. I'm sorta hopeful the SUV idea dies, if the e kills the SUV it would be value at double the price to me
now all we need is no more ****ing lockdown..

what would a colour wrap cost on a wee car like the ‘e’ I wonder, the colour palette then is endless.
