I tried out the autonomous stuff today, lane assist and adaptive cruise.

Its impressive, set at 50mph on one of our revenue generation highways and it steers and maintains a distance if the twonk in front doesn't have such gadgets
What is quite terrifying is hurtling into a bend at 50 and waiting for it to steer but the execution is good

Given what a piece of cake it is to drive not sure it's something I will use much but maybe it'll be good on the motorway (not been on one since Sept '20).

Autonomy will clearly require a change in attitude from me

So.. adaptive cruise is good for specs camera zones
Now I try to investigate the bike carrier, honda can't supply info, the dealer shrugs and says 'never seen one' but I will buy one and get it on there shortly

I am trying to find info about the bike rack kit honda advertise

I asked a dealer about it. I did get some fitting instructions which didn't mention electrical connection.

I asked honda - does it bugger my warranty if i fit? How does the wiring work (don't want a stealer butchering my wiring)

Here is the answer I got
Dear Mr. Ross,

Thank you for contacting Honda UK.

If the bike mount kit is advertised as coming with a cable, then one should be included in the kit.
Our qualified technicians based within the Honda dealership network are best-equipped to advise on technical queries. Hence why we would suggest consulting with an authorised Honda dealership regarding the installation and use of the part in question.

Thank you for contacting Honda. If we can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Rositsa Ruseva

Usual lack of help from the dept of “pass the buck”, the dealer should be in touch with their technical help folk for you, at least I would when I was at Kia, satisfied customers kept me in a job.

These things are usually plug n' play.

They have modules on them for the specific car, as nothing runs on a simple 12v DC supply any more.

EDIT - IIRC the fog light loom for my Lude wasn't - only because could I find the orange connector behind the soundproofing behind the fuse box? CIF!

Cheers Nick

Spoke to local dealer (Vertu) who said the same but couldnt confirm any detail however given that hope i have ordered the kit from Cox and will fit it myself.
Really looking forward to butchering the bumper on it (where's the eek emoji when you need it?) but i thought rather me than they ateotd.. (plus they wanted 2.5hrs labour at more than i get paid an hour )

step 2 is the actual rack, these are rebadged thule though so should be readily available

No instructions

heavy iron. Funny it says you can't use the back seats if you use it. Noone mentioned that.

wiring is 3 parts, a loom, a box of tricks and the external socket but lots of little bits with it so I will pursue honda for instructions
Grrr

Is that "can't use the back seats" as in physically impossible or is it advisory e.g. because of added weight.

Though I guess there could be a ride height issue if you are attaching a bloody gret lump of iron sticking out behind from under the rear bumper

ps. Given your steep driveway I assume you have factored that into the planning?
