Quick review:
Very capable car for the whole family.
Economy is impressive. Engine still nippy with passengers.
Ride quality is not bad, remember it sits on a megane chassis so don't expect miracles.
Cabin is a pleasure to be in, I highly recommend the Tekna model with the Pan Sunroof.
Quality of materials is up with the classier models.
I noticed the car has underseal, just on the inner mudguards. If its factory made, a positive thumbs up.
Climate control is very good.
Compared to a bigger car like the Freelander 2, the level of refinement is limited, but overall a very good family car.

Nissan are good, its just the french part I dont like about them.
One of the team leaders has one at work, but I've never asked him anything about it but he's had it for ages.

I have a 1.6 ntec petrol. So cant give you a diesel review but as far as mye car goes I am delighted with it.
Had it 18 months now and covered about 17k miles. Only fault was airbag warning light where they replaced the control unit and I havent had any probs since.
The ntec has the glass roof, satnav, roof rails, dual climate control, tinted windows, bluetooth, mp3, reversing camera, electric folding mirrors, cruise control. Mine is in nightshade with the 18inch wheels. I think they set it off well but you are limited to only a couple of tyre choices which are a bit pricey.
I have got on fine with the petrol engine. It isnt exactly powerful but TBH it suits us fine as is. I have driven the diesel and it seemed a little noisy but probably same as most.
My only complaint is the rear seats dont fold completely flat and if you are sliding something big in the boot you hit the bottom of the seat and have to lift it over. oh and it doesnt bother me as I use isofix but if you have childseats that use seatbelt you may find the seatbelt isnt long enough.
I seriously would consider replacing it with another quashqai (perhaps the +2) but then again for similar money there are loads of alternatives now which were not around when I bought mine.
BTW - reversing cameras rock! ALL cars should have them. I can park mine in a matchbox!

oh yeah, also finding roofbars to fit the roofrails is limited to the premium brands only due to the fitment / width.
If you want roofbars you will need to spend £100+ on Thules to get a decent fit.
That being said they last forever and look the part on the car. Since buying mine I have used them loads of times. quick on and off no hassle.
Note. the roofbars on the Qashqai are wider apart than the Qashqai+2 surprisingly. you can get cheap ones to fit the +2.

Having said that, like Trafics and Masters, those put together in the UK seem to be very good. Sometimes.

I dont think the engines are to blame but rather Nissan have been a victim of its own popularity.
They sold so many that the pool of car where things can go wrong grows.
