Indeed it varies.
Tell you what I've not seen for a while; the embittered Zafira driver who wanted to prove himself against anything and everything.

Mind you, there is a new one out; if you mean that I'll have to find out what it looks like.
Oh look, there's a 1 degree barely perceptible bend. I'll brake from 40 to 30. Then take 2 miles to accelerate back to 40.
And why does it need a full 1 minute gap to turn right? Or a 3 second one causing everyone to brake. And never accelerate again.
Every other driver on the road is a bunch of cunts. The sort of people that design new niche cars for Mini(TM)

Soulcrew is right, i overtook an alfa doing 30 in a 60 tonight. I was then caught dawdling through a village by the same car who was doing at least 50 in a 30. f@#king weapon.he also had a very poor repair on the tailgate
It has been a ford f@#kus, an old rover (surprised it wasnt in a breakers) and an avensis i think so far this week
I give them the bird
I am turning into a grumpy old bast, they definitely want a boot up the jacksy
Futher to my whining i saw a classic mini cooper with really shit mixed tyres
Stop dissin nottm nick.. Its a mecca. Admittedly for shellsuit chavs of late

Ah I can see the post on fannydriver.net now... "was going along very safely below the limit, when one of those lunatics (who was involved in the London riots you know) overtook in a most dangerous fashion, then threatened us with symbols of violence!"
They are c***s too! (i've just realised I can swear unedited!)
I do think there is some significance in this mpg / economy obsessed period we are going through. I bet there are a lot of people driving even slower than ever. Probably the same people who rush out and panic buy fuel.

Calm down dears. You are aware that the posted speed (limit) is not a minimum speed? In case of doubt , look up the meaning of "limit"
Maybe the person doing 40 or 50 in a 60 limit on country roads is not in a screaming hurry as he has left plenty of time for his journey. He is,like it or not, obeying the law.You , on the other hand have the right to overtake him if you choose to.Safely, of course.
What triggers the adverse reaction is not the make or type of car overtaking, but the manner of the overtake.
This morning I was travelling at 50 on country roads with blind brows and sharp bends, when I and the car following were overtaken by a Passat. Not on a clear stretch , but on a double line section on a blind bend.He then repeated the manoeuvre on a 4X4 with trailer.
He was a twat and not in a "sports car"
A few days ago I was overtaken on the A47 by an S2k immediately before a crawler lane section on double centre lines after driving inches off my rear bumper. He then proceeded to brake and insert himself into a gap between myself and the very big lorry in front. He moved 1 car up the queue, caused the line of cars behind him to brake.
He was a twat in a sports car.
In neither case did I react as I fully expect to see them one morning wrapped around an immoveable object after proving their ability as driving gods.

I'm happy to admit to being one who's daily driving style is hypermiling focused. I'm sure there'll be some who are irritated that I keep pretty close to the speed limit and pulse-and-glide, but I couldn't care less.
That's because having commuted 30k miles pa over the last 12 years in everything from an S2000 to a Smart FourTwo I can state with authority that the time 'saved' on my journey by pressing-on rather than taking it canny ( to use the vernacular) allows no meaningful human activity to be undertaken.
I have a relaxing commute, I can enjoy the radio or music more than when hammering about, I vist the fuel station less often (which saves considerable time in itself) and it costs me less into the bargain.
I suppose it does preclude me the opportunity to bang-on and whinge about slow drivers... but then again I do have a life.

Heinz, I think what most of us are getting annoyed about is people who full beam you merely for overtaking, completely safely. In their stupid eyes overtaking is a most dangerous thing.
