Question for the InZaino peeps
I finally got a clay bar and used it today on my car.
It removed all the dirt and contaminants like it is supposed to but I got the impression that there were more fine scratches on the car after using the bar than before.
I am not 100% this is the case but it just seemed like it was.
Is this normal?
Is it because the paint is cleaner you can see more of other things on the paint?

It's difficult to answer your question because it would depend on the procedure you use. I am by no means an expert but I did the claybar thing to my "S" last summer and just last week I did my wife's new black Accord. Both came out great, really smooth, and I did not see any new scatches. You would be able to see for sure on the black. You do have to keep the paint surface lubricated and keep "needing" (like making bread dough) the clay bar to bury any grit deep into clay (helps to keep grit off the clay surface that is contacting the paint).

Sounds like you did not keep the surface lubricated well. Be SURE to keep spraying the surface with water/ a capfull of carwash and stretch the bar once in a while.

I went back and had a more objective look at the car last night. There are defientely more scratches on the non-flat PLASTIC panels. On the metal panels is hard to tell but there are sections that look like they have more scratches.
I am 100% sure about the non-flat plastic panels as I left a couple out due to lack of time. The flat ones are fine....
I seem to remember it being harder to keep the non-flat ones lubricated...

BTW I was using the Mother's Clay Bar (the one with the quick detailer as the lubricant)
