Default NY - 2002 Track S2000

First Name: Shiv
Price: $16,500 OBO
Location: Batavia, NY (Near Buffalo/Rochester)
Contact: PM or joshishivang@gmail.com

If you are looking for a fully prepped track car that can put down fast laps look no further. As you can see from the mod list below, the modifications are numerous and extensive. The car was built to be reliable and fast. The engine mods all focus around enhanced cooling and keeping from oil starvation. Suspension and aero have been set up to the point of excellent response as well as mid to high speed cornering capability. All modifications have 2 seasons or less upon them. Whether you plan on leaving this car as is or adding forced induction, it is ready for anything. The car was registered and inspected during the 2017 season. It was driven to track events, lapped, and then driven back home. Transmission and differential fluid were changed every 5 events, with oil and filter being changed every other event. Valve lash was inspected and set to factory specification at the beginning of both seasons. Car needs front and rear bumper covers installed, but I already possess them and will be including them with the vehicle. Driver rear quarter panel has slight dent. This car was only used on track, and garaged the rest of the time. Examples of fast lap times I have set are as such: Lime Rock Park 0:59 , Palmer Motorsport Park 1:46, Watkins Glen 2:13. These times were posted on Hankook RS3 tires. And there is still some room for improvement in lap times. Selling this car was never a plan of mine, but moving due to work will not allow me to take the car with me, and storing it not an option either. If you were to build an s2000 to this spec, plus the extras, the cost would far exceed the asking price.

Apologies, I thought I posted this in the FS section. Could a mod move this over please? Thank you.

It seems to be a pretty reasonable setup, especially for the price.

Do you have a video of the 59 sec Lime Rock lap?

Wow, if I were to build a track S2000 this is pretty much how I would do it. Reason you went with an AP2 transmission?

I very well may, I'll take a rip through my video archives and see what's there and will post if I can find the one.

When I drove my friends AP2 I loved the shifter feel, which he said was attributed to the carbon synchros. I had also understood that they can withstand power better with a FI setup, which was always a possibility. Which is why I also swapped the clutch as well to accommodate increased power.

How did the solid rack bushings affect the steering? I personally find the S2k steering numb even with 255s in the front.

Unfortunately when I was having the rack replaced my mechanic didn't replace the stock bushings with the Spoon ones, so they're still in the box. Unfortunate because I was really looking forward to seeing what if any difference they made in steering feel.
