They could hardly care less.

Appreciate but don't follow. Might enjoy watching a game with me but not something they'd ever consider on their own.

They didn't play as kids either... I started when I was 3 or 4... I'm not sure and don't remember. I played competetive until I was 15... had to quit... too small. High points scorer in the league though.

My son is as much a crazed person as I am but only for the Flyers. Where I just love the sport (Flyers 1st of course) & would watch the play-offs even if the Flyers were not in them, he wouldn't.

So it's going to be tough on him this Thursday too. BTW, I've never played, would have loved to "grown up on skates". I did some rink skating in my 40's (for the 1st time) but it just made realize how bad I was & how GOOD the NHL'ers really are.

I guess I still skate... though I haven't on ice in over 6 years. I need to do it though.

As I said I don't remember ever *not* being able to skate... I'm told I skated at the same time as walked... or within months.

I try to keep it up on in-lines but it really isn't the same. My kids skate... not really fantastic but capbable.

I think my kids would be happy to cheer on the Leafs if the game was on where they live since they know they're the best team ( )... really just because they know it's my team.

IMO, there are no more exciting, passionate, intense and fun to watch teams in the league than the Flyers & the Leafs (in that order of course).

I've got 2 questions for you:

1. Do you live in the Torronto area?
2. Are we going to be able to keep up this "civilized" conversation as the series gets more & more intense?

1. no. I grew up in TO and then moved to London Ont. I now live in the Bay Area of Cali... lured by the Silicon Valley. Still very much the Canuck (no reference to the hockey team whatsoever! ) but love it here.

2. I'm pretty sure I will be keeping it civil as is easy to do when you are trouncing the opposition. Seriously... probably but ribbing is encouraged if it's good natured. I just love having hockey fans to talk to... not many here in the Bay area. ('though I do have some friends who come over for "Hockey Night In California".. complete with theme song and Cherry clips taken from the web.

Any word on Owen? He was supposed to be reevaluated the other day. He could be back for Thurs if all goes well.

It would be fantastic to have him and Sundin BOTH back.
