Don't be weird. . . but be unique.
Don't be creepy. . . but seem interested.
Have an original idea for a date. . . but make everything comfortable.
Have a novel job. . . that makes money.
Make real money. . . but work with your hands.
Be spontaneous. . . but have a plan in mind.
Call me back. . . but seduce me.

I mentioned this on FB at one point. . . but the story goes like this:
I was at a party back in 1996 or so. I was chattin' this girl up, and we were really hitting it off. Then, she asked me two important (at least in her mind) questions: 1.) Was I a musician and 2.) Did I own a truck. She had dated a drummer who was a real asshole and he drove a dualie. I was a Horn player who drove a POS S-15. Clearly, I was an asshole.

The thing is, the years have gone by, the women's faces are different, the questions are a little different, but the story hasn't fundamentally changed.
I do remember that story.

It's true that a lot of girls want it all - unfortunately guys are the same.
Be sexy, not slutty...no wait, be slutty.
Brains matter...unless you're slutty.
Wait, no - intelligent conversation is good, unless you're smarter than him.
Look high maintenance...but don't BE high maintenance.
If I didn't feel the Gravol kickin' in, I'd probably be able to come up with more.

I suppose I could say, "touche. . . " but my underlying complaint now is, "Wait, you're over 30 and behaving like this? Right, I'm outta here."

As far as being a slut. . . If you're over 25 and you don't enjoy sex, you've got bigger problems. . .

As far as being low/high maintenance: I just want taste. . . whoops. Shit. And no, I'm not gonna pay for it. Shit. . . shit!

As far as the intelligence thing. . . the only women I've dated who were smarter than me were also stone-cold crazier than me (which is a not-small feat). That said, when I was dating online, the smart ones were easy to ferret out - they usually never told me that they were smart; they just had intelligent and/or witty things to say. . .

I understand there are all of these paradoxes that women go through. However, I have to wonder which are ones placed by society (read: other women) and which are genuinely placed by men. . . especially now. . .

However, I have to wonder what this has to do directly with Brunt, other than the fact that a lot of young women where he lives get turned on by mouth-breathing. . . (which leaves him in an over-looked and under-sexed minority).

Even though I'm at school and should be in a thoughtful frame of mine, I'm not. I'll probably need to come back to this later.
