I'm cooking some roni's and chicken and sausage. A customer gave me some fresh basil so threw that in the pan too.

That's some good Italian slang right there Rob, lol. Was your mom from South Italy, something tells me the Northern Italians would not like that word.

My mom called Basil - Vas-a-lee-co - which is a take on basilico (basil) but the b is pronounced as a v sound. Southern Italian slang I think.

That must of been it I thought the ending was gal but it must of been co like you said. My boss was the one who picked it up from our customer and I said oh you got some Vas-a-lee-co and he didn't know what I was talking about. I thought he might as he is a food guy but not Italian he is Brazilian and Portugese.
My people are from northern Italy. Everyone thinks I'm all Irish because I have an Irish surname and reddish skin and reddish blonde hair but that all comes from the Italian side. My uncle on my Mom's side looks like Joe McO'Shaugnessykellymurphydoyle but doesn't have any Irish blood in him.

^ Oh I know some Italians who resemble that description and they are from the North, certain parts of Italy.
