What is this hidden display? I'm moving to VA in a few months and radar detectors are illegal. A hidden display would be great!

Here's the installation guide.
Just remember that Valentine V1 can be detected by both VG-2 and Spectre radar detector detectors. VA state police are all equipped with Spectre and can either confiscate or copy and record the serial number of your detector and issue you a ticket. That ticket can be expensive.

What am I to do when I head thru VA this coming w/e when heading to Charlotte?

Depends on the Escort model. Newer ones can't be detected

Turn your cheap ass radar detector off while in VA and drive the speed limit!
My wife is always bustin' on me for tickets. seems like two out of every three Dragons, usually on the way down. This year, though, SHE drove a lot on the way down, and guess who got the ticket?!! She was passing a semi when all his side markers started flashing, so she sped up to make sure he wasn't coming over on her. There was the Smyth County cop. Almost 800 miles to get to the Back of the Dragon, and she gets a ticket 6 miles from Marion! He said anything over 80 is a misdemeanor in Virginia, so he backed it down (he never did say what she was going) to 79 in a 70. I forgot all about their radar detector laws and it was there on the windshield for all to see, he had to have seen it. Was told later that this is an $800 fine plus they take the unit! So, he was definitely cool. Its all about the money, people, in this case $115. I too look it as a "secondary registration fee", part of the cost of playing.
Notice I said very little of this at either event, Jane was VERY embarrassed.
