It was a great meet, it was really nice to see some old faces and meet some new ones. It was a shame that we didnt get more people from south florida and jax but I understand with the economic times we are in.

OHH and Primo, Next time every CO should win something in the raffle

The event was awesome.

I agree with the raffle during lunch, and S2Ki should help us out financially.

Keep the group drives early, and in small groups. Have the leader designate a caboose they can trust. Give each leader a protocol for when the worst happens. This way they will be prepared for it when it does.

I was very happy with the way our group 'cruise' went... there is no reason to go out there and treat these backroads like a racetrack when you're with the group... its ridiculous, and it winds up forcing other people into doing dumb things just trying to keep up when the "front runners" take off.

But even with all the precautions taken this year, there was still an incident... but that isn't to say that we should relax the precautions, and haul ass. These should be cruises, where you are there to enjoy your car, the scenery, and the experience of being around so many S2000's, all enjoying their cars as well.

If you want to pretend to be Mario Andretti, there are track days and autocrosses for that, which offer a much safer environment, without trees to run into, dogs to hit, other people minding their own business in opposite lanes and cross-streets, the kind neighbors that live on these humble little roads who may fear for their families safety everytime they hear the roar of engines coming around a corner....

Anyway... i enjoyed our group, and i'm glad that it wasn't turned into a race or anything... the scenery was brilliant, and the experience was awesome!

[QUOTE=Brownsound,Feb 9 2009, 02:17 PM] I would definitely say 'NO' to the idea of getting rid of the group leaders, that was one of the best ideas we had!

The only thing I can add to that is perhaps splitting the groups up into categories depending on their definition of "group drive". There are some who would like to stroll, and there are some who would like to "stretch their legs". Sounds plausible

Group 1-3:

Group 4-6:
I will say this. I really enjoy driving fast. After owning my S2k for two and a half years. I have seen some very bad accidents both down here and at the Dragon. After having a major accident in my group i can really see why we cant have fast groups or split groups up into fast groups. I had decided before i left to lead the group drive that i should take the advice of Zacksdad and Barry to just enjoy the scenery that day and bring everyone back safely. Well even at a slow moderate pace someone in my group totalled their car. That was last thing anyone wanted to happen. Even though there is nothing i could have done to prevent this from happening it still bothers me. We have a great group of people on this forum and we just can promote fast or aggressive driving of any kind. I took my car to Gainsville on Sunday to the road course along with other members for an S2ki track day. It was one of the best experiences of my life and all done in a safe setting. We hit 85 mph speeds and could drive as hard as we wanted to. If you look around or know people in the Fl S2ki community all of the guys that like to drive fast and are the fastest drivers all autocross their cars regularly or track them. I wish more people would join us at the track. We cant keep having group drives with people wrecking their cars. The supermeet went very well and hopefully with suggestions we can make next year more enjoyable for everyone.

I could see attempting some of what you say but, even then it would be a monster of thing to do correctly and a nightmare if a serious mishap happens to occur.

I dont think I am (nor any other planner) is willing to tackle that.
I wont have anything to do with it. Dont think i'm preaching because i will be te first to admit i like to drive fast but like mentioned we can do it. Now if a group of friends want to to go out for a drive and we all no each other and want to pm each other to go for a sunday drive that is different. I almost think we should have one big group drive of all cars next year like we do at the Dragon.

[QUOTE=Bandiscoot,Feb 9 2009, 01:41 PM]My only suggestion would be to have the group photo session immediately after lunch and not at the end of the day.
