plasma's not going to be good quality at 42"?? I've heard that both the Panasonic and Samsung are very good for the money.

I really don't like LCD.
LCD's have lag in video games don't they?

I'm just saying. I remember looking at the Samsung 40" plasma (or 42"?) and the actual resolution was low compared to their lcd.

This has been solved with some of the new sets. They have upped the refresh rate. This technology, though, is only on the $$$$$ sets right now.

from what I understand, this is more an issue with larger lcds, but with the new 120hz I don't believe it's an issue anymore

ah yeah. i'm looking at probably the 1300x768-ish resolution. Should be more that sufficient for a bedroom TV. Hell, I'd buy one used if I could be confident of its quality... Maybe BB will have some open box items after the super bowl

I believe that's my resolution for my 32" samsung lcd. 1380x763 I believe. I think 40" plasma was something like 1024x720

DO IT!
It's done. And it's FANTASTIC!

I ended up going to a Samsung 46" LCD. I have a lot of ambiant light that I cannot control, so plasma was out right there.

They suggested I hook it up to make sure it was working right, so I fired up COD right away with the TV just sitting on the floor.

I have MORE than double the ammount of glass in front of me now, and my score was up in all three of the games I played. It makes a MONSTROUS difference!

Yeah, I have payments now, and it is more than $15 /mo. However, it is less than $85 a month. I will just setup an automatic, reoccuring payment from my bank, and it will be fine. $85 a month won't make a dent in my budget, so I am not worried about it.
