I just think it's ridiculous that you've got this amazing, awesome, super-connected whatever and they haven't even given you the most basic means of getting existing images onto the vehicles.

It's not like with RC cars there's some alternative easy way to decorate and design them. You have to paint them by hand, with a spray can, air brush, masking tape, etc.

It would be like someone handing me a bunch of pre-cut vinyl shapes and saying "design your RC car body only with these, because all of that existing technology makes it too easy."

from the forza/turn10 blog:
[QUOTE]You cannot import any images. Why?
-- The livery editor community thrives on the skill required to paint these cars. Allowing importing pictures will dilute this skill.
-- Making inappropriate content becomes much easier and faster. As is, the auction house is flooded with such content.
-- Allowing transfer of data from an external source will have to be secure. It

The reason why is probably simple. Let's say you upload a graphic and apply it to your car. Let's say that graphic is 100kb.

Ok, so you race your 100kb car single player no problem. Nothing needs to be stored on the forza or xbl server at this point.

It's when multiplayer comes into the picture that there is a huge problem. Now you're connecting to 7 other people (in an 8 person race) that everyone has to "download" your image, plus the processing power to render that image as the car makes every minute change could be taxing compared to the basic shapes they give you.

but now they're allowing 1000 layers, gradients on every layer, with whatever shapes and you're telling me that the most complex of these are smaller than a JPG or GIF or whatever, scaled down and saved down in quality (which any web server/forum software has the capability to do)?

That's another bs excuse.

I just think it's ridiculous and I have no intention of using such a stupid system and I apparently feel like raging against it. I might as well be yelling at the couch. My XBOX is boxed up anyway and the headset's broken. Forza is in the box, but AC and COD4 are packaged and sent to buyers.

yes it has hdmi and a 120gb hard drive... it'd be nice if you could copy the game from the disc to the drive... make for much faster access...

i have no idea wth i'd do with 120gb hard drive otherwise... especially since i can't even figure out how to copy files over to it. Apparently I NEED windows to do that.
