yeah, probably not a big difference in the vector when they're as complex as they are. if anything, the vectors are probably more complex and larger in size.

Come to think of it, the final images as they appear on the cars in the game are more than likely flattened bitmap images created from the vectors, anyway. They're just throwing a huge extra step in getting to that bitmap.

Texture mapping is how they make 3d in games look more 3d than it actually is. That's all you're looking at here. If they define the file size limitation it's no worse than any other texture-mapped item in the game.

The Flash vs. Video comparison doesn't hold here. Flash is object-based and you're animating objects that only need to be instantiated once, whereas video is frame-based and requires an entirely new frame for each 1/30 second. Quite different than a complex vector vs. bitmap argument.

And they've never said file size was a problem.

Just went into Prestige mode in COD4 this morning. It's sorta cool, but I do miss all the amazing weapons I had, especially the Barrett .50 cal. sniper rifle.

i don't know about that. i don't like drugs that mess with your brain chemistry and have side effects like "internal organ liquification" and "sudden onset death"
But you were a habitual smoker for __ years?

what does prestige give you, anyway?

and aaron, at least I know what smoking is doing to me... even the people who make the drugs they give out like candy these days don't know what they do and how they impact people.

True, there was also a long period of time where they didn't know cigarettes had such damaging effects as well though. It's sort of a learning curve...

So all you get is a new symbol and a gold plated gun right? Do you have to start all the challenges over again too?

Yes, EVERYTHING resets, except for the pretty little emblem you get. The only reason I did it is cause I had every gun, almost all challenges unlocked and I was completely maxed out at 55. So I thought why not put the points I keep getting to keep ranking up. I hope to be completely maxed out in the last prestige in the next few months.
