[QUOTE=whiterice87,Aug 1 2009, 10:27 AM] you guys are all too critical about this car imo. like sr240sxt said that car would easily go for 13k in colorado.

i think you should expand your search radius, you shouldn't pay more than 10k for that car

it's not that clear but, wherever i made a circle the vin number should be visible(the vins on the fenders and bumper is stickers), but i don't know where the vin on the engine block is located.
Thanks for the info. I zoomed in on the original picture I took and on the back wall behind the engine I can barely make out the last few digits of the vin, like it was painted over. Dunno about the fenders/bumper.

At least I can use some of this to bargain if I decide to chance it on this one...I've been looking for one for a while and this is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I don't expect it to be in perfect condition, as long as it wasn't BEAT I'd be happy with it.

There's a lot of mixed feelings pricewise but I think I'm gonna see what I can do about getting them down a bit.

i got my 2002 black on red for 11,400 with 29500 miles, needed a couple of dings our and front bumper respray but good to go after that, from the original owner. Don't pay too much! Also sounds a bit shady, wait until you find the perfect one. Also it doesn't have the front lip spoiler which is the key to a nice looking ap1

Here's another thing that bothers me. I am 65 years old and have a one-owner '01 NFR s2k with 31K on the odo., and it has been garaged and totally babied. It has original paint, BTW. And there has been no way that I could prevent minor stone chips and the like here and there, and you say you could find none on the yellow car. The absence of any minor paint stone chips and the like tells me the car has been repainted. Now, that can be good news or bad news, depending on how good a job was done. Before I bought the car, I would have it looked over by a very, very good body shop as to the paint job. If you don't know of such a shop, check out which body shop specializes in high-dollar cars (Mercedes, Ferraris, Porches, and the like) and take it there to be checked out.

yeah it's been painted. The guy at the dealership knows nothing about the history of it, which is concerning to me... I dunno what I'm gonna do about it yet. Gonna check out the carfax.

The sales guy didn't seem to know a lot about the history of it, more than one owner, the last guy who owned it kept it in a garage and traded it in on a new Camaro. That's all I got outta him.
sales guy changed his story??? walk away.

the paint on the fenders look different from the paint on the firewall. Clear indication that car has been resprayed. Also i looked for vin stickers on the fenders and none were found. I think that not only was the car resprayed but very possible that it was in an accident. Please spend the money and purchase a car fax and call it a day
