FYI - the car has aftermarket front and rear Honda badges. A mod like that, it's more than likely that the previous owner was younger.
to the OP, i bought my car in April of 08, with 38k miles for 12,900. My car was also in really great condition. I think you can find a better deal than that. Maybe if you wait it out for a month or two, the price will should come down the closer we get to fall/winter. Just for reference, and I know its backwards, but it shows what a little time can do. I started looking in February of 08, the dealership had my car priced at 22k. When I bought it, they had it listed for 14,9k, and I was able to talk them down to 12,9k.
Best of luck on a GREAT color car!!!
New paint looks like a red flag but can also be a bonus. Check out the carfax and ask if you can take to a car shop/mechanic of your choosing to have it thoroughly looked over to see if there was any previous damage to the car or frame. If not, then haggle away and enjoy your new S!
It's amazing to see how much the price has dropped on these suckers... and to those people talking about the crazy deals, can't really find ones close to that in socal so it really depends on your location. I noticed cars out of state were cheaper but not cheap enough to go through the hassle of flying out of state and driving it home or having it shipped in an enclosed trailer.

Carfax reported an accident 10/08 (thanks sr240sxt)
Accident reported
Involving right f ront impact
It hit another motor vehicle
It hit a guardrail
Airbags did not deploy
It doesn't say where it was repaired at though. I'm thinking either have a Honda dealer check it over real good and get them to come down to $9k on the price or forget about it. What's a good plan? It drives fine, sounds good. I'm torn. :/

Honestly I would say try to hold out and wait for a good one if you think you'll have buyer's remorse. You'll regret it later if you don't, in my opinion. It is tough to hold out when you want an S2000 bad but..it's a fairly big purchase and you want to feel good about it.
There are body repairs, and then there are major body repairs. For example, about six years ago my '01 AP1 suffered a scrape on the side of the rear bumper skin in a parking lot. The body shop replaced the bumper skin and repainted it well, which anybody can see six years later. If I were selling, I would divulge that to any potential buyer, and doubt that it would make a difference to him/her.
But when we get into more major damage, the possibility of sloppy repair and paint, and hidden damage becomes greater. The Yellow AP1 appears to have a total repaint as a result of the accident, and this leads to the fear that damage was extensive, and perhaps not merely cosmetic. Before considering it, I would certainly have it inspected by a top flight body shop.
As to the non_OEM badges, I wonder if the former owner saved the OEM ones. I am 65 years old, and replaced the OEM badges with stick-on badges from Ricks, added a Vodoo shift knob, and a few other things like that. I kept all the OEM parts, and made sure that all my changes were totally reversible. When I sell my car (if ever) I will restore it to bone stock as to these appearance items. I wonder why the former owner did not do this?

A total repaint doesn't mean extensive damage. Spa yellow is notoriously hard to match and a full repaint might have been something the repair shop offered at a discount to prevent endless color-matching issues. The pearl is also something tough to blend in well.
I think I might look into what kind of damage it had....it looks like a nice repair job, but I'm no body shop so I dunno. If it sounds too bad I'll leave it go... It could be either a shiny piece of crap or a fresh car with new paint and roof, I just don't know which
o heres a simple way to see if the car had frame damage
look underneath the rocker panel on the point where you would usually jack the car up heres a pic
if there are markings on it from a clamp then yes (the body shop forgot to touch that area up) and the car has been on a frame rack, which means there was frame damage
