It is common sense where the gas latch is, the secret compartment, and that the car has a powerband like a 74 Kawi H3.
Maybe it's common sense for people with experience with S2000s (i.e. owners), but I'd hardly expect to find anyone unfamiliar with the car to find it at first glance. At the very least, I can understand that the position of the gas door release on the S2000 is not exactly the most intuitive (at least based on my experience with a WIDE selection of cars).

Hence, the OP being new to the S2000 asked where it was.

However, to tell a person new to the S2000 that the car isn't for him just because he hasn't found the gas release door after a single test drive is simply asinine, and quite frankly shows a level of immaturity.

So you're telling me to grow up because I got a little heated over a post on the internet??
Affirmative!

Actually, I didn't tell you to grow up. I said that you have a lot of growing up to do.
[QUOTE]So that means I should sit back and look at every aspect of my life and who I am.

Very aggressive fellows over here. Glad to see this one boiled down and WWIII didn't start up.

OP, everything you noticed about the S I agree with. VTEC is subdued in this car compared to say, a B series engine. When I first got mine I wondered if it was switching over at all. This is an improvement as someone else stated earlier. But it is there, more so from around 7K onwards to 9 ( ). You only really appreciate it when you look at the speed you are going at.

It IS a bit tight sideways - I am 5'10 and 195. But that turns into an asset when you are really pushing the car and you can brace yourself / feel the car/road with all the additional "contact" points.

The shifter is very direct and a bit notchy until you get going. I recently replaced the diff and gearbox oil with Redline products and HOLY CRAP - what a difference. It is now very smooth too.

No one can knock you about the gas cap release. No one. It's like expecting someone to know that you can't put the spare donut wheel on the back axle if you get a flat i the rear. Or that there even is a "secret" compartment. Or that the transmission buzzes. Or that the roof latch rattles.

No car is perfect and neither is this one. But if you do get to buy one, I think you would be very happy with it since you already said it finally got to you. Good luck.

Honestly though, I think that if the previous owner hadnt showed me where the gas lid release thing was I would still be looking for it and I have had mine for about a month!!!

Wow, what a train wreck of a thread. To the OP, the S2000 takes some experience to drive fast. Like CKit said, it has to be driven between 6K-8K to be fast. If you launch, and then go to the redline with each shift, you'll be rewarded. Also you haven't experienced the S2000 until you've been on a twisty mountain road.

Also OP, I know you didn't see it cause you're new, but I read the first post and knew you were going to go down in flames. Tone the attitude down a notch and you'll get a lot more out of this site. There are certainly plenty of people here just looking for an argument. MpBradyS2K and Pinchy are a great example of this.

Finally, one of my first cars was a 1977 Celica GT. The one that looked like the fast-back mustang. Wow that was a fun car.
Like the kid would say..... "HE STARTED IT"...!!

I am not here to argue, just here to help out the guy.....

Hey, I traded my Celica GT-S for the S2K for a reason....... actually A LOT of reasons........

I just didnt expect the spelling bee police licking my ass !!

Tis cool, I just put the facts out there and didn't think it was making a stand against this car. I refuse to pussy foot around what i think cause it will offend people over the internet. were all cool now from what i've read on here so i have no need to respond negatively unless directly attacked again. were cool. If this is a lesson, no i won't post a lie, it's damn cramped in that s2k! lol. maybe it fits a lot of people off the bat, but it's something im going to have to get used too.

Test drove an 05 evo last night...hehe wow that was fun to drive. didn't take it through any twisty's but it was super easy to rev match and drive. Easy to beat the hell out of and very fast. Didn't have the appeal to me though. Can't see spending that much money on a car that is not reliable and value drops like a rock. did put a stupid grin on my face though.
You say it's hard to rev match in the s2k...how is it easier in the evo?
