Me too.

But seriously I will add one of each.

Pro: This car gives you the feeling of a true sports car.

Con: I worry too much about my car parked anywhere but my garage.

On a side note,
how do you quote someone else's quote properly? i tried but mine didn't show up like the previous ones.

The constant, never-ending compliments of having such a beautiful car. Everyone of every age group, from small children to grandma's in their Dodge Dart. Auto enthusiasts to automotive-ly challenged people. It's all the same. I've got my reply rap down pat now.

I do find myself hyper-conscious about where my car is parked at night if I'm not home. I'm very aware it is a eye catcher, and I continually attempt to find a well-lit, open spot where it can be easily seen, and also in a "good" area.
I do worry more about where it is; I do not let any valet park my car. I've learned this emotional reaction is part of the territory of owning such a beautiful and awesome automobile.

Pros: It's just beautiful. I've had mine for a year and a half, and I still look back at it every time I leave it in a parking lot. Fantastic handling. Ergonomic interior. Amazing engine. Rare. Stereo is adequate. Don't listen to all the complainers...it'll go loud enough to listen to music at 85 mph with the top down, forcing you to turn it down at stoplights b/c it's painful. The key is you have to keep pushing the UP button...it pauses for awhile at about 3-4 bars of volume, but will go much louder. For most people, very comfortable seats. A start button . Stock tires grip like crazy. Ground-breaking chassis stiffness. And finally, one word: VTEC!

Cons: Pathetically weak clutch. Probably a weak differential too. American Honda seems determined to claim abuse any time something wears out when someone drives the car THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED TO BE DRIVEN (AHM, are you listening? When you claim 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, you'd better be prepared to deliver). Stock tire wear is a bit excessive. The soft top on '00 and '01 models sucks...I have to get out of the car every time I lower the top to poke the rear window down so it folds properly.

That's all for now. There's a few things about it that really piss me off, but most of the time I love this car!

The S2000 is definitely not the car for everyone!

If you don't enjoy being actively involved in driving at all times, if you're not willing to rev the he!! out of the engine, if you don't appreciate sharp, precise, and stiff handling, and if you don't admire the purposefully minimalist interior, don't get the S2000.

But if those things sound good to you, you're a future S2000 owner!

1) Excellent handling for those that have the experience.
2) Excellent acceleration when rolling and in VTEC.
3) Beautiful exterior.
4) Great interior. Comfortable and supportive seats, most controls are well-placed (except the cruise on/off button).

1) Seat height for taller drivers. I'm 6'0" and as I approach a traffic light, I have to lean WAY over to the left to see when it changes. However, there is a post in the library that shows you how to lower the seat by 1.5".
2) $32,495.00 sticker and all I get is a 60 watt stereo?
3) Handling is too tricky for drivers that are inexperienced with rear-wheel-drive cars or are just plain inexperienced drivers.
4) Off-the-line acceleration weak unless you feel that 7000 rpm clutch drops are not abusive to your baby.

I'd requalify this as "tricky handling" period. I've driven a lot of RWD cars and most aren't quite as steerable with the gas as the S2000 is. Is this a problem? Yes, if you let your attention drift, no if you're always aware of the handling characteristics of the vehicle you're driving.

Sort of like the way you can spin the rear end of a CART car with the throttle - not a car problem, but not something most people would be able to handle without a lot of training first (and something even the CART drivers fall prey to given a moment's inattention...)

In short, you're driving a go-kart; whether that's a or kind of depends on the situation you find yourself in (e.g. losing the rear end on a turn in rush hour traffic probably is ... )
