Don't buy one, no matter what you do!

There are already too many S2Ks on the road and I am tired of seeing one on every corner. Last Sunday I saw 9 between my house and the breakfast joint we went to.

Mostly kidding - it is a fun car if you can apprecitate great handling and don't want to drag race at every stop light.

Hi everyone - first post here, so I might as well start with a question!?!

Is the stereo really THAT bad?

I have had 3 Audi TTs, all with the BOSE upgrade, I took an S2000 out for a spin the other day, but I totally forgot to give the stereo a blast..

.. if it is awful, how much am I looking at for a decent one?

Before you all get the wrong idea about me, I'm not a boy racer - I just like to hear it above the wind noise!!

If you are an audiophile, then YES, it is that bad. I am NOT an audiophile, so I think it is more than adequate. With the rear speakers added on and using the "unused" second channels, I've doubled my output with the stock HU. It is not problem for me. Keep in mind that I have an "00. Honda put in a slightly more powerful HU in the later models.

Thanks Viper... I'll try it as standard then. Will Honda add the second channel for me, or do I have to go to a car HiFi dealer?

The second channels are already built into the head unit. You only need to tap into them. For this, you are best adviced to go to our Sponsor "Lucid" and see about buying his HU rear speaker harness to make the "tapping" plug and play. Then you need to decide if you are going to do your own rear speakers and wire them up or get the Lucid assembly that are semi-pre-built.
I did my own:

You'll know when it's time. You have had sleepless nights just thinking about this car. You have been at Honda dealerships in the past year asking questions and seeing what you can get for your trade-in. It happened to me too. I'm now the proud owner of a 2003 Grandprix White with Tan interior. I still don't sleep nights because I dream of driving this car tomorrow. Good luck and pick up some Tylenol PM.

Hey, people, I'm about to take the plunge. I can no longer resist the urge to buy this car. The test drive was unreal - the horsepower, the sound, the feel, the stares, the wind. I'm deciding between Sebring Silver and Silverstone Metalic (I wish they made the Suzuki Blue with black interior). Got a quote from a dealer. $36,900 out the door with lojack, front and rear spoilers, and the side strakes. How does that price compare to others in Southern California? I may go with the hardtop as well now, or hold off until I move somewhere with a garage. I LOVE THIS CAR!
