Well, work was quite busy! But I finally got through all the posts. I was surprised at the nerve of the domestics and BMW owners... they always seem so full of themselves! I don't mind recommendations, but one liners like "Get blah blah blah because S2k sucks" doesn't really count as a reliable recommendation.

At any rate, I've learned a few things that will further reinforce my decision to get a MY02 or later. Just as a suggestion, I think it would be really helpful for future or potential buyers if they could get all the facts in one... FAQ. I've had to comb all over the place trying to find the subtle differences in each year. Granted, this isn't something that should be of any concern to you, but I think it would be something great for potential buyers during the decision process.

Stuff to consider:
  • What colors were available for each year?
  • What are the cosmetic changes from year to year?
  • What are the audio changes from year to year?

You see, for a newbie such as myself, I can tell you all about del Sols... from '92-'98. Differences in colors, interiors, trim levels, etc. But I don't know that much about S2000's and knowing these things will help make my decision (as well as others) a little easier. My problem isn't "Should I buy a S2000"? It's more "Which S2000 should I buy?" Like... why in the world couldn't I ever find a Suzuka Blue with black interior?? Oh... just found out they don't make it that way. Or... MY02 and MY03 have glass window with rear window defroster BUT the window is smaller than the MY00 and MY01. I'm glad I found THAT out before being a MY00. Heck, I'd probably like to make a FAQ like this myself if anyone is interested, but I think that the ones who will know best will be the current owners of this wonderful car.

LOL I clicked on the link and tried to read it but, as you mentioned, the glitches make it hard to understand. Also, it would be cool if there was a FAQ type thing included. Like "I'm such and such height and wonder if I can fit" or "can I successfully retrofit a MY'01 and MY'00 with the glass window soft top - and have the defroster work?" Hmm... forum admins... where are you~?

Actually, these threads exist, too. I've seen them. You might have to do a bit of "creative" searching to find them.
Here's one I found about the girls on the board:

The guys sorta took it over in spots but you'll get the idea. It's quite a long thread.

Getting 350-400 RWHP in an S2000 will NOT be cheap or easy. A supercharger will get you close. I've seen 330 HP with much tuning but I suppose if you also add in gears, you'll achieve your objective. To go more, you'll need a turbo. Search for "speedcraft" and "Ultimate Racing" and you'll see the two currently available "complete" kits for this car. Both will require some extensive tuning to even make the car driveable on a daily basis. UR's own car was just posted as having done the 1/4 in the mid/low 12's.
Also, in both turbo applications, you will need extensive build up of clutch, rear end and many other parts, including the use of race gas in some cases to get that kind of output. You might be better off to spend your money on a different kind of car if you want to drag race.

hahaha i like this guy.....well i have spent this whole weeknd researching and researching on this car...and i have read a good share of these posts on this forum and i am convinced that this cars handling is amazing and its definitly the car for me but in order for me to make my finally decision i have one major problem...upgrades...i want be able to have a fast good looking car(which is to hard witht the s2000, but the fast part i'm a lil worried about)...with good h/p...for example i want to throw on some mugen or toda cams and valve springs with AEM intake(unless u guys have have a suggestions for a better intake) a ????exhaust manifold, pulleys, cam gears and a single straight pipe exhaust and down pipe.....and evenually pistons and rods to beef up the torque a little....now if i did all that (minus the pistons and rods) could i be running low 13's or possibly high 12's....all motor.....

o and i have another question....is there a ECU flash that i can get as well...such as hondata (which i kno doesnt flash the s2000 ECU)....if some one could please answer me this few questions i would be sooo happy...because i have been lookin all over the internet for these answers for the past 3 days striaght....thankx alot guys
