it's not that it isn't functional, they highly recommend using a 4 point cage along with this bar, but the bar could be used to install the bar at the proper point.
See my above post for why you should not do this, I was recently at a track event at Willow Springs where the WRX in my run group rolled multiple times into the infield. If he had a harness bar and no cage he likely would not have survived looking at the way the roof was caved.

but basically if you are thinking about using a harness for how it looks just don't. if you are thinking about it because it will hold you in your seat much better, (which means you all ready have a good after market seat) then just consider using the stock seatbelt until you have some type of cage.
Just dont even use harness' unless you have a proper cage period. It is not worth the risks and will provide LESS protection then a stock belt.

one thing I have seen though, what about using the harness with only one shoulder strap? they are doing that all the time in cars without cages with harnesses, or just using the stock belt.
Using half your harness is even more dangerous. Instead of symetrically spreading the load only half your torso would be secure potentially twisting your spine depending on the nature and/or speed of the impact. Please do NOT use harness' without upgraded quality rollover protection.

Stay safe out there.

PS

Hey Circa86, you are one hell of an artist. Wanna draw my car?

doesn't it say on the site that from a safety stand point, a roll cage is needed and the harness bars are for users wanting to have the 4 point harness as fashion? I'm sure your Japanese is better than mine.

Either way, it won't fit our LHD s2000s.

no I think you are right c17r15, but I am just saying that I think with a 4pt cage it would useful, like it isn't dangerous to mount the harness like this with a cage, but if you have a cage i don't see why you wouldn't have a place to mount the harness, haha allwell.

my Japanese isn't that good, buy I learn a lot everyday.

Possibly someone with a cage/roll bar that is not equipped with a harness bar may be interested in this?

That sounds reasonable to me
