Safety Issue--> If you are in a rollover accident, the stock seat belt allows you to move and crouch. Now if you run harnesses without after market roll bar protection, in a roll over situation, you wont be able to crouch and your head will now be part of the road.

Thats not what I asked, but thanx

Innovation had the answer I was looking for.

so when u roll over u want to roll into a ball ???

its not safe because it mounts the harness too low for them to be effective at that angle to hold you safe and snug in your seat.
I did not mean to crouch into a ball. I meant that with the stock seat belts you are able to move in order to avoid head injury. With harnesses you do not have that movement. So there is a safety concern when you are running harnesses without roll over protection, the factory roll hoops are NOT sufficient... I do agree with you also that it does not let you mount them in the correct location either. LOL the never ending I Hate JDM and I love JDM feud!

DO you guys know what the top peice is?

I think it is to correct the angle of the harness to give you the 90 degree angle that is used for correct position of the harness to prevent spinal compression.

I don't think it has anything to do with liking JDM at all. Where did that come from?

It has to do with having safe equipment or unsafe. The mounting point of the top harnesses should be below the holes they pass through on the seat. I think it's about a 15 degree angle.

Have any of you guys ever pulled the plastic out of there and looked at the beam that the seat belts and roll bars are integrated into? It is NOT set up to take a load like this in the fore-aft direction. It looks like that small bar just bolts into the sheet metal? If so, there is no way that is safe in a serious crash -- rollover or not.

This item is made for RHD vehicles only. ASM uses the floor part of the bar on their Tsukuba Special Time Attack Car and Street Car in conjunction with a full roll cage.

And I agree, attaching a harness to this bar without a roll bar is NOT safe. That is a reason we have not requested it to be made for LHD applications.
