[QUOTE=leo520,Jul 25 2009, 05:44 PM] i gotta said for most people doing with fender flare , it's mostly because of the look of the wheels, the stock offset makes all wheels look fugly..so people here are trying to get lower offset wheels fit in and look better..

i am doing it , because i want my wheels to

I was aiming for about 400-450 hp once done and the stickier I can make the car to the pavement the better

the main reason i want to get overfenders is simple, it allows for a bit more grip and it looks great, and only a couple people have it, thats basically it lol. But yes its an expensive mod to complete (but then again so is every other mod on this moneysucking car)

+ i hate all the widebodys available for this car, theyre either too ridiculous or too expensive, the fenders are a nice subtle touch imo

Roger that han. I now have future plans of getting yet another set of overly expensive wheels for my car to allow for widening the track width. I blame this thread for that expense!! ha ha. I'm hoping you can put up some pics when it's all done. That would be freakin' super!

i may decide to not be lazy one day and take pics of mine. cut out, then had new pieces fitted using an english wheel, then welded in, then ground down, then painted. all rivets were drilled out, and timeserts were put in the stock quarter panels so the fenders can be put on and off with allen head machine screws. my paint/body guy is excellent...and youd probably cry if you knew how good his prices are

I've got ASM over fenders also. But, I'm running 17 x 10 +35, 255-40-17's on them. They stick out slightly. I will have to run negative camber to drop my car. That's REAL info. Someone told me that my wheel tire combination would fit no problem with the over fenders and that was not completely true. It's very tight! If I had to do it over I would go with the 17 x 9.5's. +35 and the ASM over fenders.

As far as traction, I definitely have less over steer than I did on the stock set up

Why go so wide a wheel if you were only going to run 255s?

It was a setup suggested by a fellow member that was running the over fenders. I think it was to keep the tires from rubbing on the lip.
