The Hytech cams shouldnt have a detrimental effect on idle right?
No, they still maintain VTEC. Thats the beauty of VTEC cams. If they decent grinds they will have pretty damn smooth idle. I have ZERO hunting idle issues. Aside from my ITBs no one would know they werent stock, aside from the monster pull.

Is your AEM EMS (assuming your running one) map based on the MAP sensor or TPS? Logic tells ime it should be better off with MAP, but I have read that some preffer TPS.

My car is tuned on Tps ( alpha-n) . Its a very touchy way to tune and overall I rather move to a map setup once I move to a other set of itbs. 50-70% throttle feels flat as if there is no big change. Its pretty on/off . Tuning part throttle on Tps is pretty tuff but my car is pretty smooth in that range. If you can build a nice vacume block and can run on MAP do it . Overall I have seen both.

I am tuned with speed density. (MAP, AIT) This is much better then Alpha N. My old setup was Alpha N.

Are any of you guys running ITBs actually using the car as a daily driver?

My S is the weekend warrior for now, but it is SO much more fun to drive than my DD subaru LGT that I am contemplating selling the suby and driving the S everyday.

Problem is that I seem to modify cars beyond the DD point

I have an RX7 that used to my DD until I got crazy with it.

So does anyone actually DD with ITBs?

Why don't you like sitting in traffic?
To loud? Heatsoak? drive ability?

I honestly couldnt reccomend ITBs on a daily driver. Excessive rain, sand, rocks comming off trucks, etc. It's not worth the risk, and as soon as you put filters on you lose a ton of power. The engine itself with the ITBs is 100% reliable and driveable however ITBs really were designed for the racetrack not the street. Your cold start is compromised to a degree and your engine could potentially suck in some debris. There are people that do daily on ITBs but I personally would not. Especially in New York.

I was thinking about getting ITBs for a daily set up with filters and removing the filters for track events and what not.

Would i need another map one with and without the filters?
