2012 Track Junkie Thread
I ran the same set up last year and really liked it and with the Gendron FSB with Stance Coilovers the car felt well balance. I don't remember oversteering unless I wanted to, infact I have a bit of understeer which I like because it's easy for me to compensate by turning in a bit early.
For those running a nonstaggered setup on the track, I am assuming you switched up your alignment at the same time and are running a -2.5 - -3 camber in front, as well as adding a front sway bar to counter some oversteer.
My question is, if I do this but run my stock wheels as my street wheels, is it going to noticeably understeer/handle differently, and/or is camber wear on the front tire going to be significantly worse as well? I wouldn't really want to realign the car or switch out the FSB in between every event.

Yes, I have -2.5 camber or something closer front and rear. I don't think you would need thicker FSB if you run staggered, if your FSB is at mid or stiff settings you will more than likely understeer a lot. With -2.5 camber your front tire should not have bad camber wear if you stay 0 toe, my street tire wears pretty evenly.

Since we are on the topic of tires, what do most of you guys run for an R-Compound tire? What are your favorites?

I think you are going to like them, David. I ran an old NT01R last year and they handles pretty good for my driving. At SP Main it gives me a lot of confident going WOT (flat out

I would imagine with the turbo I will be driving hard for a few laps and then taking a cool lap to keep the engine cool so it should help the tires, too. I just can't wait to get back on track!

I bet! Man, spring is coming up fast!
What event are you hoping to make first Dave?

I haven't even looked yet. My one buddy is going to a PCA event the end of March. Maybe then? Depends on how the car does these next couple of weeks.
Trackdaze just added another date. July 7th and 8th (weekend) at Summit Main.
