Hi, I am a new member to this site and I just posted an intro thread in the main forum. I just bought a 2005 S2000 that I plan on using as a track car. The upcoming season will be my third season doing HPDE events. The first two I did with PCA Potomac. I bought a 2006 Cayman S that I drove for two year, but it broke and I discovered that I don't have a Porsche check book. Scott and Artin at the Sports Car Shop talked me into the S2000. I actually remember driving at an event last summer with Artin and he passed me with regularity.

I saw some questions about PCA Potomac earlier in the tread. I really like the people in that organization and I plan to drive a bunch of events with them. I was also impressed by the instructors at the BMW club. BMW instructors regularly teach skid pad at Potomac events.

So, this season I am currently planning to run eight events. This might grow or shrink depending on how things pan out. So far, below are the events that I have signed up for:

SCCA, SP Main - 3/13-14
PCA Pot, SP Main - 4/3-4
PCA First Settlers, Dominion - 4/30, 5/1
PCA Pot, SP Shen - 6/5-6
PCA Pot, SP Main - 7/16-18
PCA Pot, SP Main - 8/6-8
BMW NCC, SP Shen - 9/11-12
PCA Pot, SP Main - 10/23-24

I was also thinking about the TrackDaaze event at SP Shen on 10/2-3. Part of me thinks that eight events are too many so I might end up paring back a little.

I did notice that there were a couple of S2000 drivers signed up for the SCCA event in March. I would be interested in getting together and talking about the car as I am a new drive to the S2K and I am sure that it drives differently than the Cayman.

For those that are familiar w/ PCA, I see PCA RTR has one shop listed for tech inspection. Do you have to bring your car there? NASA/Trackdaze just allow you to get it teched at a local shop (not including the quick track day inspection), is PCA different?

They are the Riesentoter region in eastern Pennsylvania. I think you would have to ask their register or look on their site for that information. I mainly DE'd with the DC area PCA Potomac region. For Potomac you could print out their tech form and take it to any local shop for the tech inspection. I am sure RTR has a process for getting a car inspected that are not local to their area. They just sent me an email advertising their event as SP Shenandoah on April 9-10. I can forward you the email if you are interested in this event.

I got a blacktrax and a canton. Take your pic.

The j35 swap is near compete, only thing is gearing. The stock ap1 diff is still in and I will now have a 6700rpm redline. What do you guys think?

Welcome, alot of us do Trackdaze and nasa. A few have just been getting into pca recently. The Trackdaze Shenandoah events usually have a pretty good s2000 turnout if you are interested in joining.

I'd say plug in the gear ratios using an online calculator and see where you're at. At least you have an AP1 not an AP2. An AP2 you'd probably only get to 60mph at the top of 3rd (exagerrating of course).

You're not far off mike haha. 2nd gear is a little worn anyways. Good thing I won't be using it anymore. Basically all my shift points go up one gear. I'll be able to finally use 6th gear at the track. Hardly touched that gear in 3 years.

2nd 45mph
3rd 65mph
4th 95mph
5th 120mph
6th 140mph

It's been in the shop all winter getting worked on. Blowing 2 engines in 1 year was financially really bad for me. Now if I blow a j35 it's not nearly as big a deal.

Hitting 280-285 on the dyno and over 100 additional torque.

Inline pro is adding the swap as a regular part of the lineup soon. I'm pretty much the test dummie for now.
