I'm not into opening a credit card account for a discount, but a $150 rebate on a $300+ purchase is incredible. Liquid, I wish you would have found this yesterday
Rob, if it'll make you feel better, I purchased my PS3 the day the came out. It was either $599 or $699- can't remember and don't regret it. Having our second HD format and a gaming console was worth it. We never had any overheating problems either. Early models were prone to this.

I bought mine for $599 when it came out. Of course, I always buy two of them and sell one on eBay. I sold my first 60GB PS3 for over $1000 which basically covered the cost of my PS3

Surprised there were reports of overheating problems on the launch units. Mine runs warm, but it isn't ever as hot as the 360. Still working like a charm -- and its fully PSX and PS2 backwards compatible.

You know with all the badges around, why isn't there an A/V badge? Where's Jeff?!

Blu-Ray player for $199.96 from Circuit City -- can probably price match with Best Buy:

That appears to be the old model. The current is the 350 and not carried by Best Buy.

Yeah it is last year's model ... just depends on how much you want to spend I guess.

The 350 is a better model, but it is also more expensive. *shrug* PS3 for me!

[QUOTE=LiQUiD iCE,Oct 1 2008, 03:29 PM] I did a little research, and my understanding with the "HD" Audio codecs (Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS HD) is that for PS3, it does not currently support sending BitStreams via HDMI for TrueHD or DTSHD, that means you cannot use your receiver to decode the new formats.

Rumor is that Blu-Ray players will be hitting sub-$200 for Black Friday. I think we all knew there would be crazy deals on Black Friday due to the poor economy ... but just a heads up for those that don't mind waiting overnight in line for a good deal on Black Friday...

I wonder what the TV deals will be like!
