The Official Mid-A A/V Thread
I think the slow start was intentional to get you into a "gee, this is pretty normal and boring," and then Bam!
There were definitely holes in the story, why would the military be interested in this amatuer video when CNN was on the scene? Also, the "offspring" shown on the CNN footage were ravaging the M203 weilding Army dudes but the "Brat Pack" was able to fight them off with sticks and rocks.
But bottom line is the movie had an impact on me. It's one of those films that had me thinking about it days after I had seen it.

Did anyone else think the "offspring" of the creature reminded them of those spider-crickets that are completely harmless, but freaky looking?
I finally got my HD audio to work over the HDMI on my HTPC. After hours of trying to figure it out and reading avsforums solutions, my brother-in-law figured out the solution. The AVS guys are barking up the wrong tree.
Sounds good, finally.

^ I guess that would help wouldn't it.
The general consensus is that the Microsoft UAA HD drivers got in the way of properly installing and running realtek HD drivers and the UAA must be uninstalled.
He found that booting into the bios and changing an output from DVI (standard config) to Normal is all that is needed. DVI doesn't pass audio so it only makes sense. I think he plans to post on the avsforums with details.
I'm new to the config stuff so I can't tell you exactly where the setting is from memory but its fairly obvious even to a newb.
