I just offered to teach FoodeesJim's g/f how to drive stick so she can drive HIS S

Well, trading for the day is OUT OF THE QUESTION, if you have to drive the Aztec. However having a designated driver is not a bad thing, so teaching her how to drive the S might work to your advantage at times.

Just made sure she knows, no cell phone use while driving a stick shift.....

Despite the obvious fact you should not be on the cell at all while driving any vehicle, when you are first learning to drive manual, you have MORE than enough to do in the car w/o throwing in something that takes up 75% of your attention span
